List of street fountains in Berlin's Tempelhof-Schöneberg district
The list of street wells in the Berlin district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg is an overview of the ( existing) emergency water supply wells in the districts of the district. Due to the sources, some abandoned well locations are included.
overview
According to information from the district office in response to a written request, there are 204 emergency water pumps in the district. All 204 wells are marked as “No drinking water” (partly preventive). According to the printed matter 17/15418 there are state wells in the district 169, other wells belong to the federal government and are intended for disaster control. The answer to this question shows that between 2010 and 2015, eleven street wells were finally shut down and seven new wells were built. A list of state wells from 2015 is enclosed with the printed matter. The wells found on site when they were recorded for Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap (until 2018) were compared with the list. Wells or locations (including those) listed in this printed matter are in the following listinserted. In an application to BVV in October 2019, it was stated: "According to information from the water company, a review of the street wells found that only a good 50 percent of the wells are functioning, the other half is defective." It follows that valves and frost taps and new holes may be necessary.
The wells described in the list (the locations) were found during inspections in the district and supplemented with the information from the OpenStreetMap project. In 2007 OpenStreetMap began recording. As far as the representation was recognizable and not misaligned, the 3D images from 2008/2009 from StreetView were used for the description, so if changes were made between 2008 and 2018.
In the district (primarily in the former Schöneberg district) there are still older types of Lauchhammer and Krausemodels, the largest proportion being newer with the wolf pump type and some of the Schliephacke or Rümmlerbrunnen designed in 1969. In addition to the one-piece fountain columns, there are (two-part) copies made of a thicker down tube with water outlet and the smaller top tube with a handle. The difference to the Neuen-Krause-Form in other districts lies in the smaller size of the down tube and the handle approach, which has two curved side surfaces . In addition to the continuous column bodies, there are individual ones made of four pressed parts with a separately inserted piece of the water outlet . The latter is screwed directly onto the one-piece pillars or attached or screwed to the pillars. The fountains with Lauchhammer housings in the district are all reconstructions by Schoening and Winkelhoff from 1978, with the two in Lichtenrade and Mariendorf from the Tempelhof administration following in the 1980s.
The on-site inspection took place in the second half of 2018, and 202 well bodies were identified. As no official list was available, the following list may be incomplete. Of these, the 16 Friedenauers and the 93 in the Schöneberg district belong to the old district of Schöneberg (109), divided according to the old districts . Of the (old) Tempelhof district, there are 23 in the Tempelhof district, 30 in Mariendorf and 15 in Marienfelde, and 24 in the southern district of Lichtenrade. This results in a number of 92 well locations for this old district. For 147 wells from the 2015 list of the House of Representatives inquiry, 147 wells were found under the responsibility of the State of Berlin for civil protection and 55 federal wells for disaster control. In both cases, the district office is responsible for checking the functionality and, if necessary, for repairs or decommissioning.
According to the external shape, there are 24 type I fountains (with a fish head as an outlet) in the Lauchhammer design according to Spahn from the 1890s. These should mostly be in the form that was added or restored in 1978. There are also 19 Krausebrunnen, some of which are also marked with the 1978 identifier on the lower part. This shape was commissioned by the city council in the 1920s after the formation of Greater Berlin and cast by the Krause company in Neusalz on the Oder. Schliephackebrunnen, also known as rumbler pumps, were (probably) unusable after 40 to 50 years of use and replaced or removed. In 2018 there were six such fountains that were erected in the early 1970s. Such two-part well bodies with a stronger base still exist at 22 locations, and some such well columns have recently also been replaced by Wolf columns. In the district they also differ from the Neuen-Krause in other districts. The well columns, which consist of four parts with clearly inserted water outlet, are represented at two locations, in other districts these columns are more common. The vast majority are those consistently one-piece well cylinders. So far, there are no Borsig columns recognizable by their hexagonal shape in the district. The fastening and execution of their water outlet ultimately distinguishes these 129 specimens of the Wolf and Wolf-2 type. This also indicates that the wells were sorted according to the well body, the inner pump function was not accessible and was ignored.
Emergency water well
The list can be sorted according to districts, corridor distance of the groundwater (in 2009) and pump shape. Property numbers that cannot be identified are marked in brackets and in some cases with a preceding "#" in the address. The numbers on the pillars were assigned within the old districts before the district merger, so they are partially repeated. In the description, significant circumstances are compiled and supplemented with photographs and can also be viewed on Wikimedia Commons, broken down by district. Some properties of the plump were determined in the OpenStreetMap project, for this purpose they are linked to the respective object page with the OSM ID.
The facts noted in the list of fountains were primarily ascertained in the course of 2018 and, under the aspect of emergency water wells, were considered street furniture . Changes to the descriptions may occur during regular inspections by employees of the district office or complex inspections by well companies. If necessary, the exact time at the respective location can be determined individually . For the sake of general caution, all wells in the district have a different notice that the pumped groundwater could not meet the requirements of drinking water according to the ordinance . This notice could have been destroyed by vandalism or was removed without authorization. In an emergency, it can be used with appropriate treatment. At many fountains, primarily in the old Schöneberg district , an A4-sized metal sign with rounded corners has a general black frame with the following text : “Pollution of the street and disturbances from avoidable noise are prohibited. Infringements will be punished as administrative offenses. "
From the list of state wells from 2015 for a written request to the House of Representatives, some wells and locations remained unclear. Neither from the 3D image from 2008 nor inactive clumsiness could be assigned to their length or assumed areas in the streets.
- Fountain Loewenhardtdamm (zip code 12101)
- Fountain Paul-Schmidt-Strasse (zip code 12105)
- Bayernring fountain (zip code 12101).
In addition to these three, the list also includes 19 locations of well bodies found in the summer of 2018, which were still listed in the state list from 2015, with the wells being dismantled at the determined locations. Such former locations were ignored for the neighborhood list .
According to the information provided by the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office in November 2019, there are a total of 262 wells in the district, compared to 247 in 2009. 161 locations are not immediately suitable for drinking water purposes because of chemical and 62 because of bacteriological contamination. In response to a written request from the district office in 2017, 204 functioning wells were named for 2016. The list ( as of 11/2019) contains 230 entries, 18 of which relate to dismantled or stored street wells. With a target of 1500 inhabitants per well, the number of inhabitants (334,351) results in a requirement of 230 street wells .
A current location determination results from the presentation of the results of the road inspection, which was commissioned by the Senate in 2014/2015 . The street furniture and pieces of equipment were then digitally evaluated and displayed on map material under the geoportal of the state survey office. The map material can be accessed via the link on the geoportal. The map details that are important for this article can be accessed using the search term “Straßenbefahrt 2014” and the relevant address. The locations of the road wells are marked with a blue square. Various map material can be selected as the background for the display. The overview of the locations of Berlin street fountains can be obtained via an OSM-supported map in a comparison of the WP-recorded and the plump recorded in 2014.
Abbreviations from the LOR lists of the statistics office are used for the districts of the district.

Remarks
- ↑ "The street and green space department is responsible for maintaining the wells in the Berlin districts, the regular sampling of the water quality is arranged by the health authorities. This applies to both the federal and state wells. "
- ↑ Allocating a street fountain with the help of StreetView as of 2008 was unsuccessful. During the on-site inspection (September 2018) no well could be found either. It must remain unclear whether this location, taken from the 2015 listing, was only recorded as such.
- ↑ Temph: Neu-Tempelhof , corridor distance: 10–15 m. The location is in the list without precise property or house numbers for the 820 meter long street. Only the fountain (number 95) on the corner of Wolffring exists on this street.
- ↑ Temph: Marienhöhe , the location is noted without any further information on the street with a length of 500 meters. It is located from the north from Arnulfstraße (belonging to Schöneberg) in the S-bend beginning south to Attilastraße.
- ↑ Temph: Neu-Tempelhof . The location is noted for the 910 meter long street without any information on the house number or intersection. The Bayernring runs from Tempelhofer Damm to Loewenhardtdamm.
- ↑ or otherwise shut down
- ↑ The annual figures relate to the year of installation and are orientation values derived from building times and the condition on site.
- ↑ Plots 1-21 belong to Schöneberg, the rest to Tiergarten. Compare OpenStreetMap.
- ↑ Temporary assignment of the well identification if it is unrecognizable and was also only poorly or not recognizable from the StreetView display. In any case, when the picture was taken in July 2008, there was a well at the specified location.
- ↑ From Opelweg this street is parallel to the B 101 (Großbeerenstraße) and bends in a small square at 16–12 to 10 to the east to Forddamm
- ↑ The settlement houses have been standing since the 1930s, the street 285 was given this name . The development took place in 1937.
- ↑ The planned road 46 to the south parallel to the Chaussee was included in the Lintruper Straße, named in 1930, in 1934 and was not built on until after 1960.
- ↑ Until 1969 the property was called Roonstrasse 43, the property was divided into 25 and 27, and previously property 44 to Mellener Strasse 23 and (to the rear, still undeveloped) as 21, on the property from Löptener Strasse the “Caritas senior citizens' home was built Erna Lindner ”.
- ↑ The road has a length of 1140 meters and in 1930 from the 169 set. The path lies between Mariendorfer Damm (corner of Hochgallweg) and goes as a cul-de-sac to the entrance of the Britzer Garten near the district boundary. A continuation as a wide street was (probably) planned until the 1970s.
- ↑ The recognizable images on the settlement house 's 27th
- ↑ Gneisenaustrasse as an extension of Regensburger Strasse, and across Lützowstrasse and Schillstrasse were not built on, but an additional area for the cemetery.
- ↑ The water outlet pointed to the roadway and the verge is overgrown, because of the two neighboring street trees this could not be used as a parking space, so the street well was protected against collision.
- ↑ In the line of trees, parking pockets have been set up on the sidewalk. The bike path has been redesigned. The trees on the street have been re-planted.
- ↑ a b c d e f g h i j The identification of disused wells cannot be subsequently determined without the district office, on the other hand it is irrelevant.
- ↑ These properties correspond to the unaddressed green space on Tirschenreuther Ring south of Luckeweg.
- ↑ The length of the street is 610 meters
- ↑ The fountain in the industrial area may have been created in the mid-1970s when the road was expanded for the garden colony.
- ↑ Bayreuther Straße is located south of Kurfürstenstraße and belongs to Schöneberg in contrast to the properties north of Kurfürstenstraße.
- ↑ On the 3D illustration from 2008, there is a closing hoe pump in front of the (then) Kaiser market.
- ↑ The shape speaks for a wolf column that was still erected in the 1970s, which was erected in the inner districts next to the Rümmler or Schliephackebrunnen.
- ↑ Note on OpenStreetMap chronicle remains indefinite whether Krause or Lauchhammer fountain.
- ↑ On the other hand, Fontanestrasse turns south at house 51 into the continuation of Schillerstrasse to the south. The passage for motor vehicles from the northern to the southern section of Schillerstrasse or Fontanestrasse is prevented by three rows of stone posts. The outer goods ring ran on this green strip of the garden colonies (Fontanestrasse) until the redesign of the areas in Lichtenrade until 1970.
- ↑ Eastern bridgehead for bridging the parking ring for Löwenhardtdamm
- ↑ In the north to Grunewaldstrasse and in the south cross-section between Kufsteiner and Meraner Strasse.
- ↑ In 2018 no well was found on site.
- ↑ The identifier for the (old) Tempelhof district is no longer accessible, especially since the fountain was dismantled in 2008.
- ↑ It is directed from behind on the corner of Else-Lasker-Schüler- / Karl-Heinrich-Ulrichsstraße (Kleiststraße, Nollendorfplatz underground station ). It was also laid out as a cul-de-sac in 1910 (Plan Straube III H).
- ↑ As far as the parking garage, the apartment block 22-32 is in the street, behind it is the apartment block 34-40, behind the parking garage 42-46, from Wendehammer and on the south side of the promenade follows the block 50-58, 60-66, then crosses the Manntzgraben.
- ↑ The construction of the surrounding houses increased the necessary supply of water for the increased number of residents, usually the wells are drilled beforehand on public roads.
- ↑ The manual pumps as they are used are specified with an output of 1.5 m³ per hour.
- ↑ The number of wells as determined in 2018 when it was recorded for Wikipedia. This or that federal fountain could possibly still be missing. Dismantled and ornamental fountains are listed, but not counted as part of the emergency water supply.
- ↑ a b c d e f g Mainly land use for commercial and industrial use, large-scale retail
- ↑ Mainly land use for allotment gardens
- ↑ Main land use for fallow land, meadow-like vegetation
