List of courts in Alsace 1940–1944
This list represents the German courts in occupied and de facto annexed Alsace from 1940 to 1944.
General
With the reannexion of Alsace-Lorraine by France after the First World War , the French judicial organization was reintroduced. After the outbreak of World War II , Alsace was retaken and de facto treated as part of the German Empire. However, they were not officially annexed and therefore formally did not belong to the empire. The court structure from the realm of Alsace-Lorraine (see list of courts in the realm of Alsace-Lorraine ) has been largely restored.
The Colmar Higher Regional Court now bore the name of the Colmar Higher Regional Court . The existing arrondissement courts were repealed and four regional courts established as courts of second instance. The district courts in the district of the Regional Court of Kolmar corresponded exactly to the status of 1918. Only the District Court of Colmar had become the District Court of Kolmar and the District Court of Neu-Breisach the District Court of Neubreisach. The district court Ars aM was spun off in the district of the regional court of Metz . The district of the Mulhouse District Court had been restored unchanged. From the district of the Saargemünd regional court, the Drullingen district court was integrated into and out of that of the Zabern regional court. The Saar-Buckenheim district court was newly established in the area of the Zabern regional court. The district courts of Finstingen, Lörchingen, Pfalzburg, Saarburg and Schirmeck had been spun off.
