Pope Anastasius IV did not create a new cardinal during his pontificate (1153–1154) ; he promoted only three cardinals from low to high ordo:
Doctorate in April 1154
- Cencio de Gregorio, Cardinal Priest of S. Lorenzo in Lucina, was elevated to Cardinal Bishop of Porto e Santa Rufina
- Gregorio, Cardinal Deacon of S. Angelo, was promoted to Cardinal Bishop of Sabina, but died shortly after May 18, 1154
PhD in September 1154
- Gregorio della Suburra , Cardinal Priest of Santa Maria in Trastevere, became a Cardinal Bishop of Sabina appointed
