List of the cardinal creations of Paul VI.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

During his pontificate, Pope Paul VI created (1963–1978) 144 cardinals in six consistories . Here he continued the Pope John XXIII. continued line of internationalization of the College of Cardinals . Of the cardinals he had appointed , three were still alive at the 2013 conclave , but none of these cardinals had the right to vote. He created his three immediate successors in the papacy as cardinals.
