Evangelical parish church. In 1889/90 the building from 1696 was replaced by the current church. Restoration 1989/90. Single-aisle system, strongly recessed choir with 3/8 end, west tower. The windows are arched. Inside, a coffered ceiling and single-storey built-in galleries . The choir with groin vault .   • The official list of cultural monuments is never closed. It is permanently changed through clarifications, new additions or deletions. A transfer of such changes to this list is not guaranteed at the moment.
  • The monument quality of an object does not depend on its entry in this or the official list. Objects that are not listed can also be monuments.
  • Basically, the property of a monument extends to the substance and appearance as a whole, including the interior. Deviating applies if only parts are expressly protected (e.g. the facade).

    Monument text: Stately residential stable house of a former three-sided courtyard at the location of the late Middle Ages, wide half-timbered building with a steep pitched roof, ground floor field stone approx. 60 cm thick, three-zone floor plan still comprehensible, former stable part around 1900 equipped with Prussian cap vault, Upper floor half-timbered with struts, partly exposed framework, gable side boarded up, the two rear sides impaired in the construction by horizontal windows added about a generation ago, cold roof with slate covering, horizontal roof truss with wind panicles also in the central axis, probably renewed in 1806 (designation on a beam) Overall, the farmhouse still has around 60 percent of its original substance, it belongs, built in the middle of the 18th century or before, to the older generation of still existing regionally typical wooden construction, architectural and local development significance. It also strongly shapes the image of the Upper Village, which is still authentic in its forest hoof character (LFD / 2012).

    Enclosure: plastered enclosure wall made of quarry stone masonry with cover plates made of sandstone, in the north plastered gate pillars with cover plates made of sandstone, east gate with plastered gate pillars, sandstone attachments and double-leaf wooden gate made of slats.
    The urn house of the Grohmann family (inheritance family) in the northwest corner of the cemetery.
    Celebration hall. - Gravestones : on the way to the Grohmann family's
    urn house on the northern wall, a grave slab with the inscription “Philipp Alfr. / Grohmann, / born d. 5th Octb. 1869, / died Aug. 17, 1894. ”and a lying grave slab with the inscription“ PROFESSOR / DR. EDMUND / GROHMANN / GEST. D. July 5, 1919 / WIE GOTT WILL “in the south of the road tomb of Carl August Grohmann (inscription difficult to read).
  3. Hermsdorf Cemetery Ground
    relief: terrain rising from east to west with terracing through embankments.
    Development: access path from Kalkwerkstraße in the north to the north gate, access path from the main street to the east gate, crossroads with north-south axis and east-west axis, paths parallel to the enclosure walls in the north, east, south and west ( Paths partly as grass paths).
    Woods: Solitary trees (in the northwest corner a beech, in the west of the north gate a spruce, in the east of the north gate two ash trees, outside the cemetery in the NE an ash and in the SE a beech).
    Grave border: largely uniform grave borders for double and single grave sites.
    Visual relationship: across the eastern and southern enclosure wall, wide view of the surrounding landscape, to the north, view to the church.
  4. Hermsdorf Church and Cemetery. Hall church : polygonal masonry, sandstone, east tower with a steep pyramidal dome, inside: baptismal font marked 1567, owl organ from 1890. Cemetery.
    Enclosure: Enclosure wall made of plastered quarry stone masonry with wood shingle cover (new), east gate with two plastered pillars and one sandstone attachment each with a beveled ball, SW gate with two plastered pillars and one sandstone attachment each with a broken ball, NW gate with two plastered pillars (one sandstone attachment with ball and one with broken ball).
    Access: eastern access path with an avenue from the church square to the east gate, path with an avenue from the rectory to the south-western gate.
    Woods: on the eastern access path remains of a short avenue (in the northern row a chestnut and an ash, in the southern row a Norway maple and a chestnut), on the way from the rectory to the churchyard Alle (a sycamore maple at the southwest gate of the churchyard, an old one Linden trees, an old linden tree with a stepped crown, four younger trees, a stump), in the churchyard in the north a sycamore maple and an ash tree in the west of the morgue and a sycamore maple in the east of the morgue, in the churchyard by the western enclosure wall two sycamore maples.
