Chemnitz Home
- History: The owner of the villa, Richard Hermann Dietrich (1847–1913), had no heirs. He therefore bequeathed the property to the city of Chemnitz after his death . This should sell the property and use the money gained from it to finance and build new homeless shelters. Due to the economic crisis, however, no buyer was found for the property, so the building was vacant for about ten years. In the course of the following upswing, the existing homeless shelters in Chemnitz were sufficient, so that the city of Chemnitz decided to change the will and use the building as a vacation home for employees of the city of Chemnitz. Hence the name Chemnitzer Heim comes from. Dietrich was born in Chemnitz and came from a humble background. He gained his wealth by publishing colportage novels. He had his publishing house in Dresden, where he also owned another villa. The so-called fairy tale grotto was built by the architect Burkhard, but there are no architectural drawings or historical recordings. The grotto was built for Dietrich between 1906 and 1913. Several plots of land originally belonging to the park in the north and west of the villa have meanwhile been parceled out as building land and built on with single-family houses.
- Villa: two-storey plastered building with a half-hip roof, facade with ornamental details, partly smoothed, inscription: “This home for the followers of the city of Chemnitz is supported by a generous foundation of the merchant Rich. Hermann Dietrich born December 21, 1847 in Chemnitz, died March 19, 1913 in Dresden. The Lord Mayor of Chemnitz. W.Schmidt, Mayor ”. Outbuildings: with ornamental framework and ornamental details.

The villa, a large two-storey plastered building with ornamental details (e.g. ornamental framework), was erected in 1902, like the outbuilding decorated in the same way. The house was named "Chemnitzer Heim" only a little later. It has the inscription: “This home for the followers of the city of Chemnitz is supported by a generous foundation of the businessman Rich. Hermann Dietrich born December 21, 1847 in Chemnitz, died March 19, 1913 in Dresden. The Lord Mayor of Chemnitz. W.Schmidt, Mayor “, the villa with its steep half-hip roof is a dominant feature on the eastern mountain side of the village. It is framed by the tree backdrop of the surrounding forest park, which was probably built during the construction period. This is demarcated at the bottom by a mighty rhododendron, over which one could look from the house into the valley, but which at the same time prevented a view from the outside. A pyramid tree forms another accent on the lower garden border. Towards the top, behind the building, the design of the complex becomes looser, with conifers mostly replacing deciduous trees. Nevertheless, everything is designed here too. There is a system of paths, curved axes, like randomly positioned boulders and an artificial “fairytale grotto”. On closer inspection, the “forest” also turns out to be a conglomerate of settled groups of trees. At its edge there are linden trees that frame the views. With the Goethepark below, this villa park, although not historically uniform with it, forms a spatial continuum characteristic of the Gottleuba health resort (LfD / 2014):
- Villa: two-storey plastered building with a half-hip roof, facade with ornamental details, partly smoothed, inscription: “This home for the followers of the city of Chemnitz is supported by a generous foundation of the merchant Rich. Kurpark Bad Gottleuba
From 1905, with the extension of the railway to Bad Gottleuba , a "tourist" situation arose at the foot of the eastern mountain side, at the end of the railway. H. the arrival in a spa was planned to be staged in a meaningful way. Mayor Hackebeil had the Goethepark and Bahnhofspark built, around 1908 the gondola pond to the east of the tracks can already be identified, a "Jahneiche" not far from it dates from 1912. Even if there were paths there before, the design of the Goethepark above the pond is up to Villa on Bergstrasse in the years after the First World War. The main avenue made of Norway maple has been cut, so it has been kept low in favor of transparency. Conifers frame the corners of the park, and a few other villas have sprung up along its borders. Aware of the specific importance of Bad Gottleuba as a health resort and a tourist-relevant site, the people in charge paid attention to a well-thought-out design of the place from an early stage. Around 1900, areas and views were deliberately kept free, the terrain of the later Goethepark is one of them. With the abandonment of the station areas between the two parks, the two systems were combined in 1999.- History: In 1905/06, Mayor Hackebeil had Goethepark and Bahnhofspark built, by giving up the train station areas between the two parks in 1999, the two systems were merged, the right (eastern) slope of the Gottleuba valley was designed with terraced paths, four sandstone figures “The Seasons” were distributed across the meadows , in the lower part of the park swan pond with island, pergola on the terrace above, planted as a rose garden, in the station park VVN memorial. During the floods in 1927 the column was overturned and washed away. In 1956 the master sculptor Kajer sen. Using the base and the coat of arms of the Meißner column from Cossebaude, a new column with a new coat of arms and a new part of the script was added. In 1957 it was re-erected. In 1977 the old original coat of arms was found in the river bed of the Gottleuba during construction work . In 1981 the column was made by master sculptor Kajer jun. restored. The column corresponds to the typical shape, with an obelisk on a high plinth, inscribed with distances, with two Polish and spa coats of arms as well as an "AR" monogram and post horn mark.
- ↑ a b c d e f In 1722, the Electorate of Saxony began setting up the Kursächsische Postmeile columns . Elector Friedrich August I wanted to build a modern traffic and transport control system in the electorate in order to promote trade and economy. He entrusted Magister Adam Friedrich Zürner (1679 - 1742) with the implementation. The system of post mile pillars comprised distance pillars, quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars. The distance columns should be set up in the cities in front of the city gates, later only on the marketplaces. Quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars were set up along the Poststrasse. They received a consecutive numbering (row number), starting from the beginning of the measurement. The all-mile columns were set up outside the cities on the post roads at a distance of 1 mile (= 9.062 km). The distance pillars were marked with the monogram "AR" for "Augustus Rex", the Electoral Saxon and Polish-Lithuanian double coat of arms and the Polish royal crown. The full mile, half mile columns and quarter milestones were all similarly labeled, none of them had a coat of arms, but the monogram "AR". The distances were given in hours (1 hour = ½ post mile = 4.531 km). This mile system was the first European traffic management system. The pillar considered here is of great importance in the history of traffic as part of the nationally significant postal system.

Kretzschmarmühle Hellendorf
The rear part of the residential mill building shows the usual structure of a grain mill with a floor for the main transmission, grinding or roller mill floor, tube floor and classifier floor. On the first floor, or better said in the basement, there are the main transmission and the lower drive for the grinding process as well as two drive motors in an adjoining room, one from Sachsenwerk. The grinding floor shows various units, such as a grinding process including a vibrating shoe and a pouring funnel (Robert Wunderwald "Müllerfreude" Niederwiera Post Glauchau-Land?), A grinding machine / fanal, a squeezer from Kählitz & Lübcke Mühlenbauanstalt, Mühlsteinfabrik Leipzig-Eutritzsch and an aspirator? (Cleaning) of the company Gebr. Knauthe Maschinenfabrik Borna, denotes Dresden branch Bischofswerda. There is also a stone crane. On the tube sheet there is also a filter cabinet from Hobian & Frauenberger Mühlenbau-Anstalt & Maschinenfabrik Bautzen / Saxony and a standing mixer with mixing screw. The sifter bottom is made by a plansifter from the Albert Knieb Mühlenbauanstalt company ("German Reich patent") and a peeling machine? from WA Kegel Maschinenbaufabrik and Mühlenbauanstalt Rathewalde Sächs. Switzerland dominates. The transport of the ground material was ensured by elevators, chutes and augers, which are still available from the cellar to the classifier floor. Furthermore, the brake elevator has been preserved. There are also various bagging devices.
The residential mill building is dated 1815. The location is older. The plant served as a combined grinding and sawmill. Only the shell of the building has survived from the sawmill (extension boarded up on the upper floor). All of the technology from the grain mill has come down to us. Most of it is likely to date from the Weimar Republic and the 1930s, parts of it may also be older. What is remarkable about the technology are the many, a good six, companies involved. Judging by the one wheel chamber and the wall design at the back, the grinding mill was operated by one water wheel and the sawmill possibly by two water wheels. Around 1915, the owners of the Kretzschmarmühle took over the bread bakery for the Hellendorf residents. It was only discontinued in 1998. The grinding mill only ran until 1971. Grain cleaning machine Stahl Neusaat 10 was moved to the barn building on Hauptstrasse 62a in Struppen on March 12, 2017. -

Special form of a full mile column
- Special form of a Saxon all-mile pillar, referred to as a "border column", sandstone, obelisk on a stepped base with a Saxon diamond-shaped wreath coat of arms and distance information, the center piece corresponds to a Saxon all-mile column of the New Dresden-Teplitzer Poststrasse from the 18th century, the last preserved Saxon street pillar on this route. In the Meilenblatt von Sachsen, Berlin edition, sheet 340 from 1784, both a border column and a mile column are listed there at short intervals. In the course of the road construction from 1810, the mile column was probably converted into a new (stone) border column with the Saxon coat of arms at the top in 1820 and moved directly to the border. Since the ordinance for the erection of signposts, initially made of wood, was only issued this year and the last (electoral) Saxon milestones / postal pillars were set / renewed in 1820/23, it is not a signpost. Only after 1875 were pioneering kilometers indicated on the side. It is therefore the special form of a (Kur) Saxon all-mile column, which is referred to as a "border column". The last repair and minor relocation took place in 1977 with the reconstruction of the border installations.
- Memorial stone: trapezoidal sandstone block on a stepped platform, with the inscription: “At this point, athletes of the CSR 1936 handed over the olympics. Torch on their way v. Athens n. Berlin for the German athletes ”.
- Square design: Path system - overgrown, post column (dated 1820) made of sandstone in the western half of the square, memorial for the Olympic torch relay from Athens to Berlin, which passed this place on July 31, 1936, made of sandstone (dated 1957, sculptor Herbert Weinrich) on the eastern half of the square, round sandstone plinths in front of the inner row of trees, two semicircular rows of trees per half of the square, inner ring made of pedunculate oaks (Quercus robur), outer ring with mixed trees, originally probably an alternation of lime trees (Tilia spec.) and larches (Larix decidua) , now mixed with Norway maple (Acer platanoides) and ash (Fraxinus excelsior), rows partly gaps, large stumps still mark former tree locations.
