    • Park: spacious system of three parts, two-part architectural part / castle garden in the OT Weesenstein (municipality of Müglitztal): with park wall, pool, tomb, arch bridge over the Müglitz, greenhouse, figure of a flora, obelisk and pavilion as well as path system, avenues, stone bench, arcade and outside staircase to the castle, as well as the third, scenic part / castle park on the slope: with a small part in OT Burkhardswalde (municipality of Müglitztal) with arched bridge over a stream, with the largest part in OT Meusegast (city of Dohna) with a system of paths, three sandstone arched bridges and Remains of a Belvedere.
    • Creation of the park: the architectural part was created in two phases: the larger part west of the Müglitz around 1730, the narrow part east probably in connection with the layout of the garden hall, the scenic part probably last quarter of the 18th century.
  4. Component of the totality of the Müglitztalbahn (location in the vicinity / urban development situation)
The Burkhardswalde-Maxen station is located in the middle of the elongated town on the Müglitztalstrasse. North of the station, behind a level crossing, is a 19th century hotel from the narrow-gauge era of the line. The reception building is not typically located between the tracks and Müglitztalstrasse, but behind the tracks. Description: Type one and a half storey reception building with goods floor.
Exterior: The goods floor was directly connected to the one and a half storey reception building with waiting room and service rooms on the ground floor and officials' apartment in the converted attic, but was offset in terms of design, depth and eaves height. While the receiving part is a solid building with yellow trowel plaster, the goods floor, which was placed on a broken stone base, was designed as a vertically boarded timber structure. In the slate-covered gable roof sits a dormer with 6 windows at the front and 7 windows at the back. Front left is a protruding window area with rubble stone plinth, which allowed the officer to inspect the level crossing. The two-door entrance to the waiting room with a wooden canopy is on the north side.
Inside: In the waiting room there is a long bench to the right of the entrance and a green tiled stove to the left. Lying in front, framed in green, are baggage acceptance and ticket issuance, in front of which is a round, wooden storage table. The walls are painted white and there is a green stripe along the ceiling. Gray artificial stone slabs cover the floor.
Special features / details: There is a sgraffito on the north gable , which refers to the Battle of Maxen in the Seven Years War . In the middle above a rider and a foot soldier is the inscription "Anno 1759", below which bullets were originally shown. The rear doors are doubled with diagonal profile boards that converge to a point in the middle, as were the gates of the goods floor. The remaining lattice windows and doors are painted brown and have a white border. Changes / condition: The building and its equipment are in dire need of renovation. The goods floor was destroyed by the floods in 2002 , and further damage to the remaining building can be assumed.

Community rooms expanded in the second half of the 20th century, strong walk-through beams parallel to the house. Large ground floor room with a younger stucco edge and original console arches in basket arch form over the windows, u. a. Arched wall niche to the left of the door to the adjoining room, 2002 exposure of various wall paintings. 10. ↑ Material component of the material entirety of the Müglitztalbahn (location in the vicinity / urban situation)
From Burkhardswalde-Maxen the route runs at ground level next to Müglitz and Müglitztalstraße, the latter follows it into the town center. The Mühlbach stop is in the middle of the village. The small reception building blends in well with the surrounding rural residential development. Description: Type reception building with goods floor modified on one floor. Exterior: The goods floor is directly connected to the reception building. The two parts are set apart in their design, depth and eaves height. The continuous gable roof is covered with plain tiles. At the southern end of the reception area, a light-colored plastered building, it protrudes and forms a front zone resting on a total of 6 wooden supports. The wooden, vertically boarded goods floor rests on a broken stone base. There is a loading gate on the track and street side. Interior: no information, as private.
Special features / details: A clock tower sits as a roof turret above the pre-zone in the south. It is paneled with wood and tiled. The loading gates are doubled with diagonally arranged, profiled boards, which each converge to a point in the middle of the gate leaf. Changes / condition: The building was recently refurbished for residential purposes, but it seems that a relatively large amount of substance has been lost. The external character of the building was retained to some extent, as its appearance in its original state was based on the surrounding small residential buildings. With the necessary adaptation of the interiors to the new use, however, a lot of the substance was probably lost. The goods floor was provided with windows, but the loading gate on the street side was retained. The track-side windows of the building were greatly enlarged, and the door to the window there was changed. The top floor was expanded and received a long dormer on both sides and windows in the gable area. The clocks were removed from the roof turret. The trowel plaster gave way to smooth yellow plaster. Some of the enlarged windows were made smaller again at the behest of the monument protection. Demolition of the goods shed due to flooding in 2002.
  11. ↑ Material aggregate components of the material aggregate Müglitztalbahn, OT Weesenstein
    • Müglitztalbrücke at km 6.226: length / height / width: 16.2 m / 6.0 m / -; max N / min R 150 m / 600 m. Short, simple concrete girder bridge. Built May 1937 – November 1937.
    • Müglitztalbrücke at km 6.332: length / height / width: 13.2 m / 6.0 m / -; max N / min R 150 m / 0 m. Short, simple concrete girder bridge, built May 1937 – November 1937.
  12. Functional grain mill with water wheel, type Kleinmühle, simple two- to three-storey plastered buildings, partly changed. The mill building shows the usual structure of a grain mill with a transmission cellar, roller mill floor, container floor, tube floor and classifier floor as well as a bagging plant in the side wing. The technology has been preserved completely and in very good condition. In the transmission basement there is a cam wheel, a gear input wheel, a gear (increases the speed of the water wheel and the cam wheel), a speed controller, the main transmission, a generator (usually does not run) and a mixer. On the roller floor are two double roller mills Lohmener company Grosse from 1937, a roller mill of the company MIAG in Braunschweig in 1937 and another, older roller mill of the company size.
Various containers and a crusher from the company KH Kühne from Dresden can be found on the container bottom, which is typical for so-called reverse step mills. In the case of a step-back mill, the material to be ground is temporarily stored between the passages because you cannot cope with the necessary passages (12) in one production run. The mill in Weesenstein has only two double roller mills and two single roller mills for a total of six passages. The tube sheet shows a peeling machine with brush machine from Grosse, probably also from 1937, a semolina cleaning machine and a worm gear, both from NAGEMA and around 1955, a pressure hose filter for cleaning, a suction hose filter for grinding and a tangle of elevators. On the sifter floor is an aspirator with trieur (cleaning machines ) from NAGEMA around 1955, a plansifter from Grosse ("GEGROLO" = Gebrüder Grosse Lohmen) from 1937 and the elevator winch for the brake elevator. Grain and regrind are transported exclusively or largely by elevators that extend over all floors. Their heads are on the separator floor, their feet in the transmission cellar. The flour mixing machine in the transmission cellar extends over several floors.

  15. Weesenstein Castle.
The multi-part complex of upper castle, lower castle, farmyard and park, located on a rock spur in the narrow Müglitztal near the “Bohemian Way”, is surprising because of its location, its uniform, compact appearance and its size. The use of the natural rock in the gradual construction of the whole is peculiar.
Building history: The castle was probably founded in the 13th century and first mentioned in 1318 as the property of the Burgraves of Dohna . Captured in 1402 in the Dohna feud by Margrave Wilhelm I of Meissen , in 1406 to Günter the Elder . Ä. awarded by Bünau. Owned by the von Bünau family until 1772, owned by the von Uckermann family until 1830, owned by the Wettin family until 1918 . Since 1992 Saxon palace administration. The core of the complex is the round tower of the upper castle, the basement of which may date from the 13th century, it is questionable whether parts of the wing on the village side (tower house as bower?) And the hall in the north also date back to the early days. Expansion into an apartment in the 15th century by adding the semicircular protruding hall building of this wing, which ties together older parts. A (first?) Castle chapel consecrated in 1504. 1510 mention of a brewery in the castle. Redesign of the residential castle in the course of the 16th century, possibly also the wing of the brewery from this time. The two-winged lower castle from the middle of the 16th century, probably through an extension to an older gatehouse. The upper part of the round tower including the helmet after 1706. Baroque transformation of parts of the upper castle and the lower castle 1719–47, alignment of the eaves heights of the upper castle tracts to that of the castle chapel (1738–41) by means of a mezzanine floor, standardization of the window areas where possible, painted structure of all Facades. The park was rebuilt after the Müglitz flood of 1756. The park wing and the adjoining orangery around 1780, the latter closed in 1951. Restoration work since 1958.
Description: Upper castle. Around a small courtyard (2nd castle courtyard) near the apex of the rock spur is the round tower with the adjoining late medieval hall wing in the east, the castle chapel in the south, and the transverse building at the rear of the hall in the west. A steep access path to the courtyard leads on the south side through a small gate building and covered with flying buttresses along the former battlements to the rear transverse structure, there via inner stairs and a spiral stone to the corridor in front of the castle chapel. - A two-flight staircase is placed in front of the hall wing (the flight of stairs 18th century), which starts from the courtyard of the lower castle and opens up the rooms to the east of the upper castle with their different floor heights. - In the west of the upper castle, to be reached via an arched driveway through the transverse building, there is a lower inner courtyard, the brewery courtyard (3rd castle courtyard), the two-storey, basement north-east wing of its late medieval reconstruction with twin windows, the other two wings through use changed as a brewery.

By placing six slender wooden pillars on top of a narrow rectangular floor plan, an impressive, longitudinally oval high room is created, the oval denoted by balustrades and the swinging galleries in the narrow sides. The first are the angel heads on the capitals of the pillars and the figures of angels making music on the organ front. The aedicula pulpit altar with two pairs of columns and broken, curved gable by the carpenters Samuel Hirschel, Johann Andreas Beßar and Johann Friedrich Mohsam (inscribed on the back of the glory). The sculptures Petrus and Paulus are occasionally attributed to Johann Benjamin Thomae , in the excerpt a representation of the Trinity, to the side figures of angels, and the same above the well-designed mansion box . The ceiling painting (after 1752) is a repetition of the altarpiece with the Ascension of Christ in the Catholic Hofkirche Dresden by Anton Raphael Mengs (1728–1779). - In the south side a large late Gothic crucifix. - In the manorial room, painting depicting the Last Judgment, around 1630 with later changes, on the side of the damned a carriage with the leaders of the Catholic League moves to Hell, on the side of the blessed and the like. a. the portrait of Luther. The passage with barrel vaults, marked in the rear, on the archway 1721, then added or rebuilt part with groin vaults .
