  2. Evangelical town church, formerly St. Peter and Mary.
The three-aisled hall church located at the highest point of the village is one of the earliest successors to the
Albrechtsburg in Meißen due to its cell vault . Nothing has survived from the building mentioned in 1272, probably from the 1st half of the 13th century. The choir and perhaps the basement tower of the current church date from the early 15th century. The nave was built in the last Dr. Built in the 15th century, the year 1489 on the east wall could mean the consecration date. The tower was perhaps raised in 1684, when the external staircase was added. Renovation work 1832–1843: Extension to the west, enlargement of the nave windows by Joseph Thürmer , renovation of the choir and raising of its coffin wall in 1836/37 by Gottfried Semper . Restoration by William Lossow & Max Hans Kühne in 1913 and since 1995.
    • The choir with an unequal 3/8 end, the walls widening conically to the west. The hall nave, originally four-bay, for the west bay from 1832/33, the late Gothic form apparatus was adopted. The tower at the south-east corner of the nave, which is included in the interior to a lesser extent, stands parallel to the south wall of the choir.
    • The exterior is simple. The pointed arched choir windows are small, with simple tracery, the coffin wall pierced by round openings with a six-pass , the buttresses with crab-studded gables. The nave windows were enlarged and drawn deeper in 1832/33, but the pointed arch shape was retained, the tracery wood. Above the late Gothic south portal, there is a small sandstone relief with the crucified Christ between Mary and John. North and west portal from 1832/33. The tower has a square cross-section up to the height of the top of the nave, the baroque upper floor is an octagon with a hood, double lantern and pointed helmet. The covered staircase with graceful columns on the west side of the tower, dated 1684.
    • Interior. The choir, raised by four steps, has a barrel vault and is designed as a two-bay cross - ribbed vault with stitch caps, the bays unequal deep. The nave, whose axis is shifted to the south compared to that of the choir, so that the triumphal arch and the north nave arcade intersect, has a cell vault, the ribs of which show a star configuration with intersecting approaches. The free pillars with a round cross-section, on a high base, the wall pillars laid out as fluted templates. The east yoke of the south aisle with a console with a master shield, in the east yoke of the north aisle a sculpture of the Mother of God as a half-figure. Heraldic stones on both eastern free pillars and on the round arched triumphal arch. The wooden galleries designed by Gottfried Semper.
    • Equipment: altarpiece, dated 1518, perhaps from a Freiberg workshop. The predella with relief of the martyrdom of Johannes dT. In the arched shrine, sculptures of the Mother of God between the hll. Katharina and Barbara. On the inside of the wings in relief the hll. Margarethe and Dorothea, on the outside painted the Annunciation to Mary and the birth of Jesus on the left, the Visitation of the Virgin Mary and the Adoration of the Magi on the right. The inactive wings with paintings, on the left the hll. Michael and Stephanus, on the right Nikolaus and Georg. In high sheet-like conversation Enge Sculptures: mercy seat with Saints. Johannes Evangelische and Laurentius, coats of arms of Bünau and Starschedel . - Wooden, richly decorated pulpit on the triumphal arch , probably around 1700. - Hexagonal baptismal font made of sandstone, with rich measure and branches as well as half-figures of angels with the arms of Christ , around 1500. - Organ front from 1896. - Tombs: On the south wall of the choir, inside, heraldic tombstone E. 15th c., in the northern prayer room in the nave stone for Hans von Carlowitz to Zuschendorf († 1578), with full-length of the deceased. In the cemetery around the church numerous grave monuments, especially from the 19th century (Dehio Sachsen I, 1996).
  3. a b c In 1722, the Electorate of Saxony began to set up the Kursächsische post mile pillars. Elector Friedrich August I wanted to build a modern traffic and transport control system in the electorate in order to promote trade and economy. He entrusted Magister Adam Friedrich Zürner (1679–1742) with the implementation. The system of post mile pillars comprised distance pillars, quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars. The distance columns should be set up in the cities in front of the city gates, later only on the marketplaces. Quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars were set up along the Poststrasse. They received a consecutive numbering (row number), starting from the beginning of the measurement. The all-mile columns were set up outside the cities on the post roads at a distance of 1 mile (= 9.062 km). The distance pillars were marked with the monogram "AR" for "Augustus Rex", the Electoral Saxon and Polish-Lithuanian double coat of arms and the Polish royal crown. The full mile, half mile columns and quarter milestones were all similarly labeled, none of them had a coat of arms, but the monogram "AR". The distances were given in hours (1 hour = ½ post mile = 4.531 km). This mile system was the first European traffic management system. The pillar considered here is of great importance in the history of traffic as part of the nationally significant postal system.

  6. station building Dohna
station Dohna: HSO above sea level 134.18, former Function / Meaning:. Train station, the first station construction on the Müglitz Valley Railway , today Function / Meaning: stop.
Location in the surrounding area / urban situation: The Dohna train station is located at the entrance to Dohna in the urban area and is typically arranged between the tracks and the street. It is one of the few stations on the line whose location was not changed when it was converted to standard gauge, and whose facilities at that time could largely continue to be used. However, the existing extensions to the station building were renewed and a signal box was added. The system was also changed and expanded over time. Station building, extensions:
    • Exterior: The two-storey, plastered station building with a gable roof and a dwarf house on the street side dates from 1890. When the route was rebuilt, the extension on the left, a waiting hall with a service room, was added. A front zone is formed by the gable roof, which extends towards the street and rests on 5 natural stone pillars and extends to the dwarf house of the main building. The half facing the main building, the waiting hall, was designed in the form of a horizontally boarded timber structure with generous windows and doors, the other half, the service room, as a closed-looking, plastered solid structure. Towards the tracks on both sides of the exit are small wooden crates that are open on one side and that were used to check tickets. The plastered annex to the right, which served as a goods shed, has existed since 1890 and was only rebuilt in the 1930s. It has one large loading gates facing the street and two large loading gates to the tracks, which correspond to the overall design of the route.
    • Inside: The waiting room has a wooden, dark brown waiting bench.
    • Special features / details: A large, double windowed door each leads into the waiting hall on the street and track side. The doors, the waiting hall and the track-side crates are painted dark brown and light yellow. The latter have half-height doors and windows facing the tracks. The loading gates of the right extension are doubled with diagonal profiled boards, which converge to a point in the middle of the gates. They are painted dark brown. All buildings are gray-brown plastered with trowel plaster typical of the Elbe Valley. The slate covering, which is rather untypical from the design concept, was similar to that of the existing central section from 1890. Changes / condition: The plaster color was originally of a lighter type. The buildings are not in acute danger, but in need of renovation. Special features / details: On the track side, in the middle of the building, there is the lettering "Dohna", underneath "Command signal box" in old German script. The letters are made as individual objects from deep-drawn, red painted sheet metal. Changes / Condition: The building appears to be in good, relatively unchanged condition.
    • Goods shed. Exterior: The elongated, 1.5-storey plastered building with a stone-clad base and a slate-covered gable roof is plastered in a gray-brown trowel structure. The roof protrudes over a good two thirds of the length of the building and is supported in this area by wooden struts. Underneath there are loading ramps and two goods gates on both sides. At the northern end of the side facing away from the track is a small porch with a hipped roof, which forms the entrance to the building. Interior: no information. Special features / details: The goods gates are doubled with diagonally running, profiled boards which converge to a point in the middle. The windows, like the gates, are painted dark brown, but with an additional white border. The small windows in the porch are white with a red border. Changes / Condition: The exterior of the building appears to be in relatively good condition.
  7. ^ Dohna
signal box station. Exterior: The elongated, two-storey structure with a widely cantilevered hipped roof and street-side porch is plastered in a gray-brown trowel structure. The roof is covered in slate. The control room for the railway staff is on the upper floor. Therefore, there are a number of large, flat-format windows here. On the track side, one sits in the middle, two more each round the corners except for the narrow sides. There are smaller white lattice windows on the ground floor. Interior: no information.

A more in-depth scientific investigation is still pending in this area, so that no statements can be made at the moment. Possibly the columnar poplar (Populus nigra 'Italica'), which is located north of the manor house, belongs to this design. 10. Description of the garden monument Gutspark Gamig (Silke Epple, May 17, 2012). Note: The manor garden can be divided into two parts, a landscape part that takes up the entire south side of the area and a regularly designed part that lies west of the manor house. This part is framed on its south side by the orangery building, structured by the cut yew hedge and the height graduation. Structural assets:
    • Building: mansion, on the west side with a higher terrace and open staircase, pillars on the staircase crowned with two spheres and two putti on the right and left of the stairs, enclosure: sandstone wall in the south and east original, partly still with sandstone slab cover, newly put on in the west ,

      • Hedges and bushes: cut yew hedge (Taxus baccata) in the part of the garden to the west of the manor house, next to the staircase leading to the terrace azaleas (Rhododendron luteum),
      • Other protected assets. Ground relief: in the part of the garden to the west of the manor house, the terrain rises from east to west in three levels, the difference in height between the 1st and 2nd levels is overcome by a sandstone staircase flanked by two pedestals, the difference in height between the 2nd and 3rd. Today the plain is surmounted by an embankment, also flanked by sandstone pedestals, originally there was also an outside staircase, the stairs and the flanking pedestals taper to the west and meet in their lines of alignment with the gate in the western enclosure wall Garden to the manor house and the church.
