List of German ambassadors in Iran
This article shows the list of heads of the German representation in Tehran ( Iran ) . Until 1954 Germany was only represented by envoys. In 1955 the legation was upgraded to an embassy. From this point on, the head of the mission bears the title ambassador.

- Julius von Minutoli (1st Prussian Prime Minister and Consul General of the German Customs Union in Persia, December 19, 1859 - November 5, 1860, journey through Persia to Bushehr, Vice Consul Heinrich Brugsch , representative after Minutoli's death until 1861)

- Heinrich XXXI. Prince von Reuss younger line (August 11, 1912– July 19, 1916); only one embassy secretary remained in the embassy in Tehran until the war-related closure in 1917. German interests were represented by the US embassy.
- Philipp Vassel , envoy to the Iranian government in Kermanshah , 1916. There was a provisional Iranian government supported by the German Reich under the leadership of Reza Qoli Khan Nezam al Saltaneh .
- Rudolf Nadolny , ( chargé d'affaires of the German Embassy in the Iranian government in Kermanshah , from 1916 to 1917). On March 11, 1917, the German embassy in Kermanshah had to be given up. The government of Reza Qoli Khan Nezam al Saltaneh had disbanded due to the advance of Russian troops into Kermanshah.
- no representative - the embassy in Tehran was closed (1917–1920), German interests were safeguarded by the Spanish ambassador after the USA entered the war against Germany.
