Diocesan development process

On November 29, 2015, development areas were defined for all parishes in the Archdiocese of Vienna. The parishes should work more closely together in the development areas, form parish associations or pastoral care rooms. At the end of the process, new parishes should emerge from the development areas. In the dean's office Laa-Gaubitsch, together with the parishes that were added on September 1, 2016, the following development areas were defined:

  • Hanfthal, Kottingneusiedl, Laa an der Thaya, Neudorf im Weinviertel, Pottenhofen, Wildendürnbach, Wulzeshofen and Zlabern
  • Eichenbrunn, Gaubitsch, Großharras, Patzmannsdorf, Stronsdorf, Unterstinkenbrunn and Zwingendorf
  • Fallbach, Hagenberg, Loosdorf, Staatz and Wultendorf
  • Ameis, Asparn an der Zaya, Gnadendorf, Grafensulz, Michelstetten and Wenzersdorf

The Ernstbrunn deanery was dissolved on September 1, 2016 and the parishes of Ameis, Asparn an der Zaya, Gnadendorf, Grafensulz, Michelstetten and Wenzersdorf became part of the Laa-Gaubitsch deanery.
