The trivial names of inorganic compounds are only included in this list if only this name - and not the official chemical name according to IUPAC - is used (almost) exclusively in word and writing (e.g. water instead of hydrogen oxide).
The names of minerals, which are mostly trivial names, are also included in this list only in individual cases; for them there is the list of minerals .
