The following list sorts the 26 states of Brazil and the capital district ( Distrito Federal do Brasil ) according to their economic output ( gross domestic product ). In 2017, Brazil was ranked 8th among the world's largest economic powers with a GDP of US $ 2.054 billion; In purchasing power parity (adjusted for domestic prices), GDP was 3,240 billion international dollars (a comparative currency calculated by the World Bank ), placing Brazil in 8th place.
