Holme and archipelago
The 11 spars of the Faroe Islands are not among the 18 islands of the Faroe Islands due to their small size. Freestanding cliffs such as Risin and Kellingin are not part of the Holmen, but rather part of the Faroe Islands' 750 archipelago .
The two largest spars, Tindhólmur and Mykineshólmur , are also the two best known: The Tindhólmur because of its bizarre shape; and Mykineshólmur for its general accessibility for tourists to observe the Faroese bird life , which is particularly rich here. The pedestrian bridge there was originally built because of the lighthouse there.
