- March 11th : The Bohemian Landtag adopts the Vladislav regional order , which is considered the first written constitution in Bohemia . Mostly it is a collection and specification of older privileges of the nobility.
- Erasmus von Rotterdam publishes the work Collectanea adagiorum ( Collected Proverbs ) in Paris , the first edition of a collection and commentary on 818 ancient proverbs , idioms and sayings .
- The earliest road map of Central Europe is the Romwegkarte printed by Erhard Etzlaub on the occasion of the holy year in 1500 . The map, entitled This is the Rome route to meylen of meylen with puncten recorded by eyner stat to the other by deutzsche landt., Like all cards Etzlaubs gesüdet (south is at the top), three directions are with Sunrise, lunch and Undergang labeled. The course of the road is shown and the distances between the cities can be measured by means of points at a distance of one German mile (7.4 km).
- around 1500: The ballad Robin Hood and the Potter is written in Middle English .
- 1500/ 1505 : The Strasbourg puzzle book , the first in the German-speaking countries known printed puzzle book , first appears. With numerous other editions, it is one of the most successful secularly popularly written books of the early modern period . The work contains 336 spiritual and secular puzzles , many joke questions and riddle stories with solutions, as well as individual anecdotes and proverbs . The author of the Strasbourg riddle book, so-called for lack of an actual title, is not known; it could be Thomas Murner .
