Lliam Webster (born February 19, 1986 in Melbourne ) is an Australian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Melbourne Ice in the Australian Ice Hockey League since 2004 .
Career
Lliam Webster began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with the Melbourne Jets , for which he was active in the 2001-2003 seasons. Since 2004 he has been in the Australian Ice Hockey League with Melbourne Ice in the summer half of the year, the winter in the southern hemisphere . He also played in the winter from 2003 to 2005 for the Canadian junior teams Selkirk Steelers from the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and the Aurora Tigers and Thornhill Thunderbirds from the Ontario Junior Hockey League . The attacker then played for two winters for Vaasan Sport , for which he was on the ice in the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons in the Mestis , the second Finnish professional game class. Mostly, however, he ran for its U20 juniors in the second highest Finnish junior division. The 2008/09 winter season spent in Webster Pferdeturm Towers in the fourth-class hockey Regional . For Lower Saxony he scored 31 scorer points in 18 games, twelve of which were goals. Since 2009 he has played exclusively with Melbourne Ice in the AIHL and won the Goodall Cup , the Australian championship title , with his team in 2010 for the first time . In the 2010 season, as since 2014, the Australian international was the team captain of his club. In 2011, 2012 and 2017 he was able to win the Goodall Cup again with the Melbourne Ice. In 2011 he won the H. Newman Reid Trophy with the team as the winner of the main round . In 2018 he was elected to the AIHL All-Star Team.
International
For Australia , Webster took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championship Division III 2003 and the U20 Junior World Championship Division II 2006 . At the U18 World Cup in 2003, he and his team were promoted to Division II.
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships of Division II in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , when he was top scorer together with his compatriot Greg Oddy and the Chinese Wang Zhiqiang and also the second best scorer of the tournament behind Oddy, 2010 , In 2011 , when he was second best scorer of the tournament after his compatriot Joey Hughes , in 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 , when he was the second best goal setter of the tournament together with the Serb Dominik Crnogorac and the Belgian Mitch Morgan behind the Romanian Roberto Gliga , and 2018 as well as at the World Championships of Division I in 2009 and 2012 . In 2016, Webster was the first captain of the Australian team.
