Luisa Görlich (born December 21, 1998 ) is a German ski jumper .

Career

Luisa Görlich, who grew up in Hasenthal in the Thuringian district of Sonneberg , started ski jumping in 2005 at the age of six with her twin sister Sophia Görlich at WSV 08 Lauscha . On the recommendation of her youth trainer Jens Greiner-Hiero , she learns and trains at the Oberstdorf ski boarding school.

Already at the beginning of her active competitive career, she secured good placements in the student cup and in the FIS Ladies Cup. On August 13, 2011, she made her debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup in Bischofsgrün . After she remained without points in both competitions, she was initially looked after in the junior C-squad, with which she started in the ski jumping Alpine Cup from July 2012 . On March 2, 2013, she started again in the Continental Cup in Oberwiesenthal and secured her first Continental Cup points with 29th place. In December she secured her first two top 20 placings in this series in the two competitions in Notodden . In 2014 she won the German Youth Championship in Ruhpolding in March . In August 2014 she celebrated three Alpine Cup podiums in a row in Pöhla and Bischofsgrün. In the Continental Cup in Trondheim in September, Görlich made it into the points again. In December 2014, she won the German Cup.

At the European Olympic Winter Youth Festival 2015 in Tschagguns , Austria , she won the bronze medal in the individual on the K66 hill. She was only behind her compatriot Henriette Kraus , who was second and tied with Agnes Reisch on the podium. At the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2015 in Seefeld in Tirol , Görlich won gold in the individual and gold in the team. On March 7th and 8th, 2015, Görlich was twice on the podium at the Alpencup in Chaux-Neuve .

In August, after her successful debut in the Ski Jumping Grand Prix , in which she was the 25th to collect first points in Courchevel , Görlich was fourth at the German Championships in Oberstdorf , ahead of Olympic champion Carina Vogt . A few days after this success she secured her first two top 10 placements in the Continental Cup in Oberwiesenthal with a fifth and an eighth place. In September she traveled with the A-team to the Grand Prix in Almaty in Kazakhstan . As 20th and 22nd, she was able to book further points on her account and was thus at the end of the 29th of the Ski Jumping Grand Prix 2015 .

In winter 2015/16, Görlich will continue to be a permanent member of the C-squad for the Continental Cup. On January 31, 2016, she made her debut in the World Cup in Oberstdorf and took her first World Cup points with rank 28. On February 19, she was ranked 22nd in the World Cup show jumping in Lahti , and on February 27th and 28th in Almaty, ranked 24th and 18th. She won the Alpine Cup show jumping on March 19 and 20, 2016 in Baiersbronn .

Luisa's second sister Emilia Görlich is also a junior ski jumper in Lauscha. Pauline Heßler also belongs to the training group of the three sisters .

At the 2017 Junior World Championships in Park City , Utah , Görlich won the gold medal in the team competition together with Agnes Reisch , Gianina Ernst and Pauline Heßler . In the individual competition, she finished seventh. A year later, she won the silver medal with the mixed team at the 2018 championships in Kandersteg, Switzerland .

After a cruciate ligament rupture in March 2018, Görlich had to take a break the following season, but then successfully returned to the 2019/20 World Cup . With a 10th place in Sapporo she was able to achieve her best result up to that point and meanwhile climb to 15th place in the overall ranking.
