The Mansfield Motor Speedway is a motorsport racetrack just under half a mile north of Mansfield in the US state of Ohio . The speedway is a 0.44 mile (0.7 kilometer) long clay oval that was paved from 1999 to 2016.

history

In 1959 the track, then still Mansfield Raceway, was built as a 3/8 mile long clay oval. The track was extended in 1972 to its current length of 0.44 miles, in 1999 the track was paved and renamed Mansfield Motorsports Speedway . From 2004 to 2008 races of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series took place on this track . Races from the IMSA series, the HOSS Sprint Cars and races from the ASA and ARCA Racing Series also took place.

SAFER barriers were installed along the route in 2006 . In 2007 it was announced that a drag strip would be built, but this has often been postponed and has not yet been built. As part of the plans of the name of the track in was Mansfield Motorsports Park changed .

For the 2017 season, the track, which in the meantime was again called Mansfield Raceway and Spitzer Motor Speedway , was renamed Mansfield Motor Speedway , and the asphalt was replaced with a loose surface.
