Mariánské Údolí (German Marienthal ) is a district of the town of Horní Jiřetín in the Czech Republic . It is located one kilometer north of Horní Jiřetín and belongs to the Okres Most (German Brüx ).

The settlement Mariánské Údolí is located on the southern slope of the Ore Mountains in the valley of the Jiřetinský potok. To the north rise the Kopřivník (699 m), the Jeřabina ( Haselstein , 788 m) and the Hřeben ( Kammberg , 687 m), in the southwest the Kapucínský vrch, also Kapucín ( Kapuzinerhauberg , 743 m), west of the Točník ( Draxelsberg , 676 m) m) and Čihadlo ( Vogelherd , 792 m) and in the northwest of the Strážný vrch ( Wachhübel , 761 m).
Neighboring towns are Mníšek and Klíny in the north, Křížatky in the northeast, Janov in the east, Záluží in the southeast, Horní Jiřetín and Černice in the south, Lniště and Mikulovice in the west and Nová Ves v Horách and Brüderwiese in the northwest.
history
Since the Middle Ages, a Landessteig has led through the six-kilometer-long valley of the Jiřetinský potok from Brüx over the Ore Mountain Ridge to the Mark of Meißen . In the North Bohemian Basin , the villages of Niedergeorgenthal , Vierzehnhöfen and Obergeorgenthal lined up along the stream ; the narrow mountain valley from the Glasgrund to Nickelsdorf remained uninhabited until the 19th century. In the Middle Ages, mining on non-ferrous metals probably took place in this part.
In 1828, entrepreneurs from Chemnitz set up a cotton spinning mill north of Obergeorgenthal in Glasgrund. To the work of several houses that make up developed a settlement that in 1845 in honor of the basic mistress Marie Princess emerged Lobkowicz , née Countess of Waldstein as Marienthal referred was.
After the abolition of patrimonial Marienthal formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Gebirgsneudorf in the district authority of Brüx . In 1869 the settlement had 56 inhabitants. The Marienthal cotton spinning mill burned down in 1889. In 1890 22 people lived in Marienthal. In 1892 the factory was rebuilt and a steam engine-powered weaving mill was set up in it. In 1902 a serpentine road to Nickelsdorf was built on the right side of the stream. In 1921 the Czech name Mariánské Údolí was created . In 1930 Mariánské Údolí had 57 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , the village was added to the German Reich in 1938 and until 1945 belonged to the district of Brüx as a district of Gebirgsneudorf .
After the end of the Second World War, Mariánské Údolí came back to Czechoslovakia . From 1949 Mariánské Údolí belonged to the newly established Okres Litvínov. In 1950 57 people lived in the village. 1957 the place was umgemeindet to Horní Jiřetín . At the beginning of 1961, Mariánské Údolí returned to Okres Most. In 1970 Mariánské Údolí had 82 inhabitants. 1991 lived in the place 28 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 12 houses in which 29 people lived. In 2009 there were 39. Today the weaving mill operates as the Triola textile factory.
