Mark Helfrich (film editor)
Mark Edward Helfrich (born November 13, 1957 ) is an American film editor , film director and photographer .
Life
During his time at the University of Wisconsin – Madison , Mark Helfrich worked as a projectionist and radio DJ. After moving to Los Angeles , he tried to work in the film industry. And already in 1979 he was able to assist with editing in Die Frau in Rot and Rock 'n' Roll High School . With The Return of the Ninja , a film by Sam Firstenberg , he was responsible for the film editing for the first time in 1983 . Action films such as Rambo II - The Order and Predator followed in the following years . He and the director and producer Brett Ratner have had Money Talks since 1997 - money doesn't stink . Helfrich not only edited films such as Red Dragon , X-Men: The Last Resistance and all three rush hour films for him, but also edited the pilot for the Prison Break series produced by Rattner .
Helfrich also took photos and published two erotic illustrated books. At the 2006 Satellite Awards ceremony , he and Mark Goldblatt and Julia Wong won the award for best film editing for their joint work on X-Men: The Last Resistance .
Mark Helfrich is a member of the American Cinema Editors .
