Marshall "Behrooz" Manesh (born August 16, 1950 in Mashhad ) is an Iranian - American actor .

Life

Manesh lost his father at a young age and grew up with his mother. He came to America in the mid-1970s and joined a Persian theater company. For eight years he traveled extensively across the United States , Canada, and Europe . His debut film was the Oscar-nominated agent film True Lies by James Cameron, with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in the leading roles. Manesh has appeared in more than 100 feature films, television projects and more than 40 commercials. Manesh played mostly smaller roles in various series; For example, in the sitcoms Will & Grace Mr. Zamir, in How I Met Your Mother the taxi driver Ranjit, in Scrubs Dr. Akbar, in Andy Barker, PI the Commissioner Wally and in the television series Burn Notice , Law & Order and many others. His most famous role since 2009 was probably his performance as Nandu Banerjee in Prison Break .
