Martin Bergeron (born January 20, 1968 in Verdun , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player .
Career
Bergeron began his career in the Canadian Junior League Quebec Major Junior Hockey League . There he played four seasons for the Drummondville Voltigeurs since 1985 . He drew attention to himself with good performances and convincing statistics. Among other things, he was the top scorer in his team. In a total of 274 games, Bergeron scored 387 points scorer.
In the summer of 1988 he was drawn in the fifth round of the NHL Entry Draft in a total of 99th place by the officials of the New York Rangers . He then moved several times within some American minor leagues . He played a season in the American Hockey League with the then farm team of the New York Rangers, the Binghamton Rangers .
Bergeron later moved abroad to ERC Westfalen Dortmund , where he was one of the top performers. After the club went bankrupt , Bergeron was forced to change clubs. So he went to Switzerland , where he was active for a total of five years. Club stations were among others the ZSC Lions in the National League A , the highest Swiss ice hockey league . Bergeron ended his active ice hockey career in 2007 with the Swiss club CP Meyrin.
