Matt Chrabot (born May 26, 1983 in Chicago ) is an American triathlete .

Career

Matt Chrabot was active in swimming in his youth and has been practicing triathlon since 2003. He has been a professional since 2006 and mainly competes in short and middle distance competitions.

Triathlon national champion short distance 2013

In March 2013 he became the national triathlon champion on the short distance and in November he finished 23rd at his first start on the Ironman distance in Arizona (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

At Ironman Mexico , he finished second in November 2014. In September 2015 he finished second in Chattanooga - in one of the tightest decisions in the international racing series: In the sprint to the finish, he was just two seconds behind the winner and six seconds ahead of the third-placed.

Ironman 2017 winner

In June 2017 he finished second in the Ironman Boulder . In December he was able to win the first edition of the Ironman Mar del Plata in Argentina .

Matt Chrabot lives in Virginia Beach .

  • For his achievements, Matt Chrabot was voted "Triathlete of the Year 2013" in the United States ( 2013 USA Triathlon Elite Triathletes of the Year ).
