Maximilian Entholzner (born August 18, 1994 in Rotthalmünster , Passau district , Bavaria ) is a German athlete who specializes in the long jump . He also does short sprints .
career path
Entholzner has been studying International Business and Technology (formerly industrial engineer ) at the Technical University of Nuremberg Georg Simon Ohm since autumn 2014 .
Athletic career
Maximilian Entholzner initially competed in the youth class in various running and jumping disciplines.
In 2011 he was U18 champion at the Bavarian Athletics Championships in the 110-meter hurdles and second in the long jump .
In 2012, Entholzner took second place in the U20 class at the Bavarian Athletics Championships in Erding, both in the long jump and in the triple jump and third in the 110 meter hurdles. At the German U20 Championships in Mönchengladbach , he came in 11th place in the long jump.
In 2013 he took 6th place in the long jump at the German U20 indoor championships in Halle (Saale) and 4th place at the German U20 championships in Rostock .
In 2014 Entholzer won the German U23 runner-up in Wesel with a new Lower Bavarian record of 7.70 m, and six weeks later he finished 13th at the German championships in Ulm .
In 2015, Entholzner was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia in January, but the pain did not disappear despite the surgical intervention, whereupon a fatigue fracture in the pelvic area was diagnosed in the middle of the year and he was only able to fully train again from December.
2016, recovered, Entholzer improved the 35-year-old Bavarian record of the U23 age group by four centimeters on May 7th in Bad Kissingen with a jump to 7.81 m. At the German Championships in Kassel , he came in 10th place and a month later was German U23 champion in Wattenscheid .
In 2017 Entholzer became German runner-up in Erfurt . In the course of the year he set two Lower Bavarian men's records. With 10.29 seconds he undercut the 45-year-old record in the 100 meter run by Franz Prebeck ( TSV Bogen ). In the long jump, Entholzer set the Lower Bavarian record of 7.92 m. With this distance he was second in the German annual best list at the end of the year.
In 2018 Entholzer was again German runner-up in Nuremberg . Previously, he had already met the standard of 7.95 m for the European Championships in Berlin on June 9 at the long jump meeting in Oberteuringen with 7.96 m and with the same distance on June 30 at the long jump meeting in Bad Langensalza , where he was eliminated in qualification .
Entholzner has been part of the perspective squad of the German Athletics Association (DLV) since the competitive sports reform 2017/18 and was previously in the B-squad of the DLV.
