Melara is a north-east Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1734 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Rovigo in Veneto . The municipality is located about 46 kilometers west of Rovigo on the Po . Melara is the westernmost municipality in the province and borders directly on the provinces of Mantua ( Lombardy ) and Verona .
