Badia Polesine is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 10,125 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Rovigo in Veneto . The municipality is located about 23 kilometers west of Rovigo on the Adige . It represents the north-western part of the Polesine , the land between the Adige and Po at its confluence with the Adriatic Sea . The municipality borders directly on the provinces of Padua and Verona .
history
La Badia is mentioned as early as the 6th century . The municipality has been using the title città (city) since 1817.
traffic
Strada Statale 434 Transpolesana runs through the municipality from Verona to Rovigo. The train station on the route between Verona and Rovigo has also existed since 1876.
