Taglio di Po is a northeastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 8135 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Rovigo in Veneto . The municipality is located about 34 kilometers west-southwest of Rovigo in the Polesina , the estuary of the Po . It is 5 kilometers to the Italian Adriatic coast . Taglio di Po does not border on the province of Ferrara because of the narrow strip of the neighboring municipality Ariano nel Polesine . Part of the municipality belongs to the Regional Park del Delta del Po .
history
From the end of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the area and the current town belonged to the Republic of Venice .
traffic
The municipality is crossed by the Strada Statale 309 Romea ( E 55 ), the section from Ravenna to Venice . This road is also the last major bridge over the Po before its mouth.
