Methorstteich and Rümlandteich (also "Methhörstteich and Rümland-Teich") are a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein community of Emkendorf in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district .
The approximately 46 hectare nature reserve is entered under number 54 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1957 (date of regulation: September 20, 1957). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district.
The nature reserve is located southeast of Rendsburg on the edge of a forest area in the Westensee Nature Park . It consists of two parts, each around 23 hectares in size, with the Methorstteich and Rümlandteich ponds . In the nature reserve, bank zones of the ponds are included, in the case of the Rümlandsteich also an area adjacent to the pond. The Methorstteich is mostly lined with wood, the Rümlandsteich partly with wide reed areas . The ponds are originally fish ponds, which were probably created at the beginning of the 20th century. The Rümlandsteich is no longer used for fish farming. The dammed ponds are fed by streams . Your water flows off to the Wehrau . Both ponds are privately owned and belong to Gut Emkendorf .
The area is looked after by the Independent Schleswig-Holstein Landscape Board of Trustees - Association for Nature Conservation and Landscape Management.
