Flood meadows Jägerslust

The Jägerslust floodplains are a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein municipalities of Krummwisch and Felde in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district .

The approximately 14  hectare nature reserve is registered under number 107 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1982 (date of regulation: October 5, 1982). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district.

The nature reserve lies between Rendsburg and Kiel . It places a shallow floodplain in a moraine valley under protection, which was created by traffic jams from 1973 onwards. Until then, the valley drained in an easterly direction via a trench with a pipe passage. Today the water level is held by an overflow. The bank areas adjoining the water surface with their reed areas are included in the nature reserve. Trees grow widespread along the bank. To the north, a forest area adjoins the nature reserve.

Typical fen plants can be found in the bank areas. The reed bed areas are habitat for bitterns , reed bunting , reed warbler and Schwirlen , the water area of u. a. Gadgets , Tons , pochards and shovelers as well as mute swans and gray goose populated. The Canada goose can also be seen again and again. The white-tailed eagle uses the nature reserve for foraging. In winter rest or spend the winter here Goldeneye , Goosander and little grebe .

At the edge of the reserve there is a cormorant colony, some of which have over 100 nests. The cormorants fly to the west or Wittensee to forage .

The nature reserve is looked after by the Schleswig-Holstein State Association of the Nature Conservation Union of Germany . It is not accessible, but can be partially seen from a street on the western edge.
