Mickey Renaud Captain's Trophy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mickey Renaud Captain's Trophy is an ice hockey trophy that is awarded annually by the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) to the team captain with outstanding leadership qualities, who has also shown strength of character and has stood out for his commitment. The award was first given in the 2008/09 season. The winner will be chosen in an election by the league's media representatives. The trophy was named in memory of Mickey Renaud , who passed away in February 2008 and was the team captain of the Windsor Spitfires . As a result, the Spitfires blocked his jersey number 18, which has not been given to any player since then.
