Middleburg is a census-designated place (CDP) in Clay County in the US state of Florida with 13,008 residents (as of 2010).

Middleburg is around 20 km west of Green Cove Springs and south of Jacksonville . The CDP is crossed by Florida State Road 21 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 13,008 inhabitants were distributed over 4,891 households. The population density was 274.4 inh / km². 92.9% of the population identified themselves as whites , 3.1% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 0.7% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.8% to several ethnic groups. 4.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010, children under the age of 18 lived in 39.2% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 22.0% of all households. 77.1% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.88 people and the average family size was 3.20 people.

28.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 15.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 39 years. 50.3% of the population were male and 49.7% were female.

The median annual income was $ 51,250, with 16.1% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 95.63% of the population, 3.80% spoke Spanish and 0.57% had another mother tongue.
