Penney Farms is a city in Clay County in the US state of Florida with 749 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Penney Farms is about 10 km west of Green Cove Springs and about 30 km south of Jacksonville .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 749 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 447 households. The population density was 208.1 inh / km². 90.4% of the population identified themselves as white, 6.5% as African American and 0.9% as Asian Americans . 0.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.5% to several ethnic groups. 1.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 3.9% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 87.3% of all households. 46.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.61 and the average family size was 2.22.

4.9% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 3.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 7.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 84.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 81 years. 39.8% of the population were male and 60.2% were female.

In 2000, English was the first language of 97.28% of the population, 1.95% spoke Hindi and 0.78% spoke French .
