The Miele K 2 was the medium-sized car model from Miele & Cie. KG from Gütersloh , which was produced between April 1912 and February 1914. Other spellings of the model name were Miele K2 , Miele K.2 and Miele K II . Technically, the model was identical to the Miele K 3 .
description
chassis
The chassis was conventional with a front engine , cardan shaft and rear wheel drive . It was tapered at the front and cranked up at the back. The wheelbase was 2700 mm and the track width was 1300 mm. The superstructure for the passengers was 2280 mm long. The vehicle dimensions are not known.
engine
The vehicles were powered by a four-cylinder , four-stroke , in- line engine . The motor was cooled by means of a thermosiphon cooling system , which was then known as thermosiphon cooling. The engine had 78 mm bore , 120 mm stroke and 2292 cm³ displacement . That corresponded to 9 tax horsepower . The engine output was 28 hp . Therefore the model was also called 9/28 hp . There are indications that the engine initially produced 22 hp and the model was therefore also called 9/22 hp - however, the Miele delivery book does not confirm this information. The magneto ignition came from Bosch .
Power transmission
The gearbox had four forward and one reverse gears and was operated via a gate gear. The clutch was a multi- disc clutch .
Top speed
The company stated the maximum speed of 70 to 80 km / h for the four-seater torpedo version.
body
There was a choice of two- and four-seat torpedoes , four-seat landaulets , four-seat limousines and two-seat delivery vans .

Reliability run 1912
In 1912 a Miele vehicle took part in a three-day automobile rally over 1,400 kilometers from Minden to Frankfurt am Main under the protectorate of Prince Heinrich of Prussia . One source mentions motor data that match K 2 and K 3.
Quantities
According to the Miele delivery book, 47 or 48 vehicles were built - possibly one more because the book lists a vehicle without a model name.
