He was also used as a kick returner from this season , in 21 returns he ran 483 yards and a touchdown. In his senior year of college, 2008, Wallace had his best performance. He caught 39 passes for 784 yards and 7 touchdowns and scored an additional 861 yards and a touchdown as a returner.

NFL

Pittsburgh Steelers

2009

Mike Wallace was selected as the 84th player by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft . He signed a three-year contract with the Steelers 1,745,500 US dollars . Wallace played in all 16 games in his rookie season , four of them as a starter. He made his debut in the first week of the 2009 season playing against the Tennessee Titans . Wallace had his first touchdown in week five in defeating the Detroit Lions . He played a good first season, catching 39 passes for 756 yards and 6 touchdowns. While the Steelers won the Super Bowl XLIII the previous season , Wallace missed the play-offs in his first year with the Steelers .

2010

Wallace 2012 for the Steelers

In the 2010 season, Wallace played all 16 games in the starting line-up, also because Santonio Holmes was switched to the New York Jets in the off-season . Wallace was his second season in the NFL, his statistical best year, catching 60 passes for 1,257 yards and 10 touchdowns, catching the most yards and touchdowns for the Steelers that season. The 2010 season was also much more successful from a team perspective, as the Steelers reached Super Bowl XLV with Wallace . Wallace could not prevent the defeat against the Green Bay Packers with 9 pass catches for 89 yards and a touchdown .

2011

In his third year in the NFL ( 2011 ) Wallace was able to confirm his achievements from the previous year. He caught 72 passes for 1,193 yards and 8 touchdowns and was again the Steelers' most successful receiver. Wallace caused a sensation in the seventh week of the 2011 season with a touchdown over 95 yards in the victory over the Arizona Cardinals . It was also the longest touchdown in Steelers history to date. That record was set by JuJu Smith-Schuster in 2017 with a 97-yard touchdown for the Steelers. Wallace was first elected to the Pro Bowl ( 2011 ) for his strong performance during the season . He reached the play-offs again with the Steelers, but here they were already subject to the Denver Broncos in overtime in the wildcard round .

2012

After the 2011 season, Wallace became a restricted free agent and the Steelers offered him a tender for $ 2.7 million. Wallace, on the other hand, wanted to sign a longer and more expensive contract and went on strike. He only rejoined the team just two weeks before the start of the season and accepted the 2.7 million US dollars over a year. In the 2012 season, Wallace scored 8 touchdowns again, but could only catch passes for 836 yards. Still, statistically, he was still the Steelers' best receiver. Wallace was not re-elected to the Pro Bowl in 2012 and also missed the play-offs with the Steelers.

Miami Dolphins

2013

After the fourth season with the Steelers, his contract ran out with them. During the off-season, Wallace signed a five-year $ 60 million deal with the Miami Dolphins . In the 2013 season he caught 73 passes, the most in one season of his career. He came to 930 yards and 5 touchdowns and was the second most successful receiver for the Dolphins after Brian Hartline . The Dolphins ended the season with 8 wins and 8 losses and missed the play-offs for the fifth time in a row.

2014

Even in his second year in Miami, in the 2014 season , Wallace could not build on his performances in Pittsburgh. He was used in all 16 games, but could only book 862 yards for himself. The 10 touchdowns they caught were positive in the season for Wallace, but this was not enough to lead the Dolphins into the play-offs. Miami ended the season again 8-8 and missed the play-offs.

Minnesota Vikings (2015)

After the 2014 season, the Dolphins traded Wallace and a seven-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings . In return, the Vikings sent a five-round pick to the Dolphins. What is bizarre is that two years earlier, Wallace turned down a six-year, $ 76 million offer from the Vikings and preferred to join the Dolphins. At the Vikings, Wallace disappointed in the 2015 season . He came in the 16 games on only 473 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Vikings reached the play-offs with him, but were already defeated in the wildcard round with 9:10 to the Seattle Seahawks . After only one year with the Vikings, Wallace was fired by them in the off-season and thus became a free agent .

Baltimore Ravens

2016

The Baltimore Ravens hired Wallace as a free agent and gave him a two-year contract with a salary of $ 11.5 million. The contract was actually for a year and $ 5.75 million, for the second year the Ravens had an option with a salary of $ 5.75 million. With the Ravens, Wallace broke 1,000 yards for the third time in his career in the 2016 season . He came in the season on 72 passes for 1,017 yards and 4 touchdowns. The highlight of the season was another 95-yard touchdown for Wallace. He scored this against his former team from Pittsburgh, where he also scored a 95-yard touchdown. Wallace missed the play-offs with the Baltimore Ravens.

2017

After the 2016 season, the Ravens drew the option for Wallace, so that he played for Baltimore in 2017 . He again scored 4 touchdowns for the Ravens, but with 748 yards clearly missed the 1,000 yard mark. Wallace also missed the play-offs with the Ravens in 2017 and was therefore unable to play any play-offs personally for the fifth time in a row. After the 2017 season, his contract with the Baltimore franchise expired and he became a free agent for the second time in his career.

Philadelphia Eagles

During the off-season, Wallace signed a $ 4 million one-year deal with the reigning Super Bowl champion, the Philadelphia Eagles. The 2018 season marks Wallace's tenth season in the NFL.
