Morales is a municipality ( municipio ) in the department of Bolivar in northern Colombia .

geography

Morales is located in the south of Bolívar in the Magdalena Medio sub-region on the Morales arm ( Brazo de Morales ) of the Río Magdalena on a river island. The municipality is bordered by Arenal del Sur and Río Viejo in the north, Gamarra in the Department del Cesar and Puerto Wilches in the Department of Santander in the east, Simití and Santa Rosa del Sur in the south and Montecristo in the west .

Demographics

The municipality of Morales has 22,487 inhabitants, of which 6255 live in the urban part (cabecera municipal) of the municipality (as of 2019).

Attractions

The parish church of Templo parroquial de San Sebastián was declared a Colombian national heritage in 2000 .
