San Pablo is a municipality ( municipio ) in the department of Bolivar in northern Colombia .

geography

San Pablo is located in the south of Bolívar on the left bank of the Río Magdalena in the sub-region Magdalena Medio , 576 km from Cartagena and has an average temperature of 28 to 30 ° C. The municipality borders Santa Rosa del Sur and Simití in the north, Cantagallo in the south , Puerto Wilches in the Santander department to the east and Remedios and Segovia in the Antioquia department in the west .

history

San Pablo was founded in 1543 by the conquistador Alonso Ramírez de Arellano. San Pablo has had parish status since 1968.
