The municipality of La Paz (more precisely: "Nuestra Señora de La Paz") is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of La Paz is one of five municipalities in the Murillo province and is located in the northern part of the province. It borders on the municipality of El Alto in the west, on the municipality of Achocalla in the southwest , on the municipality of Mecapaca in the south, on the municipality of Palca in the southeast , on the province of Nor Yungas in the east, on the province of Caranavi in the north -east, and on the north Larecaja Province , and in the northwest to the Loayza Province .

The municipality has 62 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is La Paz with 757,184 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southern part of the municipality.
