The NFA Cup 2010 of the Namibian club soccer teams began on March 6, 2010 in Walvis Bay and ended with the final on May 29, 2010. The main sponsor and namesake of the Leo NFA Cup is the Namibian mobile operator leo . The cup competition is organized by the Namibia Football Association .
The African Stars won the 2010 NFA Cup and thus the double . They received a prize of N $ 600,000 and the runner-up Civics FC N $ 200,000.
Game mode
The final round of the cup was played in tournament mode on several weekends in central stadiums. There were 32 teams in the final round in the knockout system . Previously, the participating clubs in the second division (in Windhoek and Otjiwarongo ) and third division (each in the regions) had to qualify in elimination tournaments.
Participating teams
The 12 teams in the Namibia Premier League and the two relegated teams from the 2008/2009 season were automatically qualified for the final round. There were also three teams from the "Northern Stream" and two from the "Southern Stream" of the Namibia First Division (2nd division) and one team each from the 13 regional 3rd leagues ( Second Division ).
