NGC 2200 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Puppis in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 209 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 55,000 ly.
It is likely to form gravitationally bound galaxies with NGC 2201 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on January 23, 1835 .
