NGC 3255 is an open star cluster in the constellation Kiel des Schiff (Carina) and has an angular extent of 2.0 'and an apparent magnitude of 11.0 mag. It was discovered by John Herschel on February 4, 1835 and is also known as the OCL 817 or ESO 127-SC20 .
