NGC 3260 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E in the constellation Antlia on the southern sky . It is estimated to be 98 million light years away from the Milky Way , about 35,000 ly in diameter, and a member of the Antlia Galaxy Cluster . Together with NGC 3273 and IC 2584, the NGC 3273 group ( LGG 200 ).
The galaxies NGC 3257 , NGC 3258 , NGC 3267 , NGC 3268 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered on May 12, 1834 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
