NGC 3245 is an active Lenticular galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type S0 in the constellation Leo Minor at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 57 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light-years across. Together with PGC 30714 ( NGC 3245A ) it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3232 , NGC 3234 , NGC 3235 , IC 2572 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 11, 1785 .
