NGC 3234 = NGC 3235 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Little Leo in the northern sky . It is an estimated 285 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3232 , NGC 3245 , IC 2565 , IC 2572 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on December 24, 1827 .
