NGC 3275 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Air Pump in the southern sky . It is an estimated 131 million light years from the Milky Way , has a diameter of about 115,000 ly, and is a member of the Antlia galaxy cluster .
The PGC 30952 galaxy is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on February 1, 1835 .
