NGC 7779 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 234 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 95,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 7778 , NGC 7780 , NGC 7781 , NGC 7782 .
The object was discovered by William Herschel on November 12, 1784 .
