NGC 7761 = IC 5361 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 324 million light years from the Milky Way and about 115,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 7776 .
The Type Ia supernova SN 2002ef was observed here.
The object was acquired by Ormond Stone (listed as NGC 7761) in 1886 and by Guillaume Bigourdan (listed as IC 5361) on November 30, 1891 .
