The seventh season of the American crime series NCIS celebrated its premiere in the US on September 22, 2009. The final was sent on 25 May, 2010. In Germany, the season started on February 28, 2010. On October 31, 2010, the last episode of the season was broadcast in Germany. In Switzerland, the season was broadcast from March 8 to November 16, 2010.

DiNozzo is captured by a Sudanese man. He asks him about what brought him to him. He tells how they had to work without Ziva, looked for a replacement for her and finally found out that she is in danger and needs to be rescued. When Ziva is brought into the room, the tide turns.

The team is investigating a bachelorette party where three guests were murdered. One died from hanging, the second from drowning in the toilet, and the third from alcohol poisoning. All of the victims had their hair shaved off after their death. After a thorough investigation, the team finds a suspect, a police officer, who was bullied by three in high school and mistreated in the same way that the victims were found.

When political blogger Matt Burns was found dead after being knocked off a bridge while following a tip, NCIS has a special interest in investigating his death. On his blog, Burns suspected NCIS of covering up the murder of young Navy officer Rod Arnett, who Burns suspected of insider trading. The NCIS concluded that Arnett's car accident was just an unfortunate car accident, not a murder. Eventually they try to exhume Arnett's body for further investigation and find out that his body has been stolen.

At the end of the world, the corpse of a long-missing marine appears. Gibbs and Vance investigate together, as it soon becomes apparent that Ziva was directly involved in the Marine's death. Gibbs and Vance try to explain what really happened on board the sunken Damocles and what dark secret Ziva is suppressing.

Ziva tries to reintegrate into the team and the rest of the team has their own Halloween experiences.

Leon Vance needs the help of Gibbs and his team. A North Korean killer from Vance's past appears in Washington DC to do his job again. Vance finally faces his past and a bizarre connection to the killer is revealed, who could not only cost Vance his life, but also his family.

If a robbery is attempted, a dead lieutenant is left behind, as is great chaos. Gibbs and his team begin their investigation and are completely in the dark because the whole city is without electricity. Apparently the blackout and theft have something to do with each other. The dead person is Navy Lieutenant Emma Paxton. She is posthumously suspected of having been involved in the break-in of the server company SwiftCast. Blood samples from the crime scene can ultimately convince the real perpetrator.

The NCIS team wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving in comfort, but then the body of a brutally murdered Marine Corporal is found. He was a supervisor at the Sattler Institute, where gifted children help with research and development in military strategies. In collages by Angela Kelp, who is 12 years old, Abby eventually finds top-secret radio interference signals. The highly explosive data was secretly sold to China. Angela is taken into protective custody at Ducky's house. A second body, the woman who organized the sale of the data, is found. When the girl escapes from the safe house and runs to her mother's home, the team catches the killer at the last second. In the final scene, the entire team celebrates Ducky Thanksgiving together.

The NCIS team is called in to investigate the death of a Marine who converted to Islam. The son of a pastor appears to have been the victim of a hate crime. Gibbs also tries to find out why his father behaved strange during a visit. He has suffered serious trauma from a robbery and seeks advice from Gibbs. The victim's father, a former Navy officer and now Reverend, quickly comes under suspicion for not having missed an opportunity to dissuade his son from Islam again. Gibbs then finds out that it is not the father but the brother who is to blame, as he cannot accept that his brother had become a Muslim. Guest Star: Ralph Waite as Jackson Gibbs.

When the charred corpse of a Navy lieutenant is found in a burned-out forest, the team of investigators finds out that the pilot flew a jet pack and crashed. It turns out that in addition to his job as a test pilot, he has also accepted private assignments, such as that of the Tillmann couple. A lawyer, Allison Hart, who holds a grudge against Gibbs, tries to keep him away from the Tillmanns' clients. Abby discovers that the victim was poisoned before flying the jet pack. This leads to his commander, who used technology from private corporations and the Navy to build his own jet pack and killed the victim to avoid having to involve him. Gibbs later discovers that the lawyer is also representing Commander Bell. Guest star: Rena Sofer as M. Allison Hart.

A Saudi prince escapes an assassination attempt while attending United States Navy flight school. The team is tasked with investigating and protecting the prince. Meanwhile, much to Tony's displeasure, his father appears. He tries to do business with the prince's father. The team later discovers that the attackers were not terrorists. Originally, the prince's brother, who was a thorn in the side of his brother's western lifestyle, wanted Sayif to be martyred. Nevertheless, the brother manages to leave the country, because Gibbs' hands are tied due to his diplomatic immunity. Prince Omar, the father of the two, however, promises to ensure that his eldest son will be punished appropriately. Meanwhile, Tony discovers that his father is really broke. However, he is not ready to confront his father about it. In the final scene, Tony Gibbs tells Gibbs over a beer that he always loved his father despite their broken relationship. Guest star: Robert Wagner as Anthony DiNozzo Sr.

On the return flight from Paris, Tony and Ziva realize that their assignment to protect Nora Williams, a government witness in a case of embezzlement, is in jeopardy because there is a hit man on board the plane. They quickly suspect Art Neeley, an Air Marshal, who is found murdered in the aircraft toilet a short time later.

A man is found with a gunshot wound. According to the records, the Navy was "missing in action" in Afghanistan and there. Two women appear who both claim to be married to the victim. Shortly after Tony confronts the Marine with this fact, the Marine dies.

Gibbs is captured by Paloma Reynosa, the daughter of the drug dealer he once shot and killed. She explains to him that she has started killing everyone Gibbs has ever dealt with. Should he refuse to work with her, she will continue doing so until Gibbs is all alone. It also turns out that Alejandro Rivera is Paloma's brother. After Abby has proven that Gibbs shot the drug dealer, she tries by all means to prevent her results from being sent to Mexico. While Ziva is being sworn in, Tony has to deal with Alejandro Rivera's problem. Gibbs writes down his fifty-first rule. In the last shot, Paloma Reynosa enters Gibbs' father's shop. Guest stars: Rena Sofer as M. Allison Hart, Ralph Waite as Jackson Gibbs, Muse Watson as Mike Franks, Marco Sanchez as Alejandro Rivera and Jacqueline Obradors as Paloma Reynosa.

DVD release

In the USA, the entire season was released on DVD on August 24, 2010. In Germany, the season appeared in two parts on June 9, 2011. In Australia , the season appeared on July 7, 2011.
