As a replacement, Emily Wickersham joined the cast, who had previously not played any well-known roles in films or television series. actor
production
On February 1, 2013, CBS extended NCIS for an 11th season. On the same day, Mark Harmon extended his contract with CBS for the television series for several years. On July 10, 2013, it was announced that Cote de Pablo , who plays Ziva David , has decided to no longer be available as the lead actress for season 11. She will appear in a few episodes to finish the character's story. Because of Cote de Pablo's exit, showrunner Gary Glasberg had to change the planned storyline for the 11th season. Glasberg said: "Someone asked me if I had planned this, but I didn't, and so by the time this occurred I had to throw away a lot of my designs and start over" ("Someone asked me if I was planning for this, but I really wasn't, so basically the minute that this became real, I had to throw out a lot of what I was planning to do and start from scratch "). Glasberg said different characters will be rotating to replace Ziva's role.
The theme for this season, according to Glasberg, is "unlocking demons", both figuratively and literally. A very interesting adversary (“pretty interesting adversary”) on the topic will be introduced and that will continue through the season (“that will carry through the season”).
Casting
Colin Hanks will appear in the first two episodes as Defense Department Investigator Richard Parsons, a character who was introduced at the end of Season 10. Marina Sirtis has announced that she will return as Mossad Director Orli Elbaz, a role she played in season 10. Joe Spano will also appear in his role as Senior FBI Agent Tobias C. Fornell in the first two episodes.
At the beginning of the new season, a new character named Ozzy is introduced, who is known as "a tall figure who is tasked with gathering information about an intruder and bringing down a potential hacker" (“a towering figure who's tasked with digging up information on an intruder and tracking down a potential hacker "). The second episode will feature a character named Sarah Porter, played by Leslie Hope . Margo Harshman has been selected for a potentially recurring role as Timothy McGee's friend Delilah. The third episode introduces a woman who is about to retire and whom Gibbs knows from his past.
On August 13, 2013, the casting profile for a new female character named Bishop was published, whose filming is scheduled for mid-October. Bishop is referred to as a "female twenty-one; clever, educated, athletic, attractive, with a youthful appearance, concentrated and somewhat socially awkward ”(“ twentysomething female; bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward ”). “She has a mysterious mix of analytical brilliance, dogged determination and idealism. She travels a lot, but only feels comfortable at home ”(“ She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism. She's traveled extensively, but only feels comfortable at home ”). Emily Wickersham has been cast to play this role and the character will be introduced during November. The promotion of Wickersham to lead actress was announced in early November.
