Neß is a district of the municipality of Hummeltal in the Bayreuth district in Upper Franconia ( Bavaria ).
geography
The hamlet is located on the Mistel , a left tributary of the Red Main . In the south-east are the wooded hills Nesser Berg ( 562 m above sea level ) and Pettendorfer Rangen, which are among the foothills of Franconian Switzerland . A local road leads to State Road 2163 near Bärnreuth (0.2 km west).
history
From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office of Bayreuth . With the community edict (early 19th century) Neß was assigned to the tax district Pettendorf and the rural community Creez . On April 1, 1971 Neß was incorporated into the municipality of Hummeltal as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
