Niedersynderstedt is a district of the city of Blankenhain in the Weimarer Land district , Thuringia .

geography

Niedersynderstedt is located northeast of the city of Blankenhain on the federal motorway 4 , about 800 m from the junction. The district is on the right and left of the road from Magdala to Blankenhain. The rivers are somewhat greened with trees and bushes.

history

The first official registration of the village took place on June 24, 1227. The place was first mentioned as Sinthersteti in a list of goods from the imperial abbey of Fulda, which was to be set before 900 . Niedersynderstedt has 161 inhabitants (as of April 1, 2008). The place was and is characterized by agriculture.

church

A church was first mentioned in 1140 and the parish in 1333. The large pulpit with its rustic painting and gilding is the richest ornament of the otherwise rather simple church. It probably dates from 1718. The oldest year 1550 is attached to this church above a choir window. During excavations, a large grave field from the Saxon fratricidal war was found east of the church. The foundations of a very old church or chapel were also found. A gilded chalice from the 14th century bears the inscription “Maria hlf, iesus hlf” and is decorated with consecration crosses. Since the Reformation, Obersynderstedt, Tromlitz, Loßnitz and Söllnitz have also belonged to the parish.
