Loßnitz is a district of the city of Blankenhain in the Weimarer Land district , Thuringia .

geography

The place is 4.5 km east of Blankenhain. The provincial road 1060 with connection to the federal highway 4 near Magdala leads through the village. The demarcation is docked and the flowing waters are planted with bushes and trees, especially the Magdel. In the direction of Milda there are slight climbs to be overcome. The hills are wooded.

history

The first documentary mention of Loßnitz takes place in 1378. The place is probably much older, because finds from the early Stone Age have even been found. For a long time the inhabitants belonged to the Blankenhain rule. Then the power relations changed frequently. A free courtyard of the Blankenhain manor was also located there. The place burned down in 1600 and was desolate until 1655. The village was completely destroyed in the Thirty Years War . The fields were no longer processed. Then large and medium-sized farmers built up new livelihoods. In the GDR, these farms also followed the path of collectivization of agriculture. After the reunification, there were new forms of agriculture.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Obersynderstedt and Söllnitz were incorporated.
